LE CARRÉ DES LOMBES > REPERTOIRE WORKSHOP
JUNE 11 > 22 / 10 A.M. > 5 P.M.
In Danièle Desnoyers’ creations, everything is part of the dance: music, sound environment, set, and light. In a context stripped of several of these elements, participants will approach the concept of repertoire plunging in the creative process of rough choreographic material, with its physical requirements and zones of freedom. Although Danièle Desnoyers regularly works with improvisation, her creative process is extremely directed and close to music composition processes.
Master classes with Sophie Corriveau: 10 a.m. > 11:30 a.m. Repertoire and creative process workshop: 11:45 a.m. > 1 p.m. + 2 p.m. > 5 p.m.
BIOGRAPHY Choreographer Danièle Desnoyers is a leading figure in Québec contemporary dance. Beginning in the 1990s, she made her mark on Canadian and European stages with intimate and mysterious works, and then with magnificent sets and sound environments that helped shape her gestural vocabulary. Danièle excels in the art of representing the point at which dance, visual arts, and music converge. Since founding her company Le Carré des Lombes in 1989, she has been a trailblazer in the exploration of new avenues in dance. Sous la peau, la nuit, her last creation, will be presented by Festival TransAmériques from June 2 to 4.
