PRESENTATION LETTERCircuit-Est centre chorégraphique: a dance center for advanced training, research, and creation; an open space for gathering and sharing offering a variety of pedagogical approaches and welcoming international guests, a new generation of creators, and the general public. It’s always a pleasure to prepare the training program that is an integral part of our season. In 2010-2011 you will work with familiar and essential teachers: Marc Boivin, Andrew de Lotbinière Harwood, Angélique Willkie, and Peter Boneham as well as other artists from the United States, Argentina, Spain, Slovakia and the United Kingdom. You can also participate in an unprecedented experience with Paul-André Fortier’s Solo 30x30 two-week workshop. This season will include the first edition of Triptych, a series of international residencies in collaboration with Operaestate Festival Veneto [Italy] and The Dance Centre [Vancouver]. This common desire to stimulate creation via intercultural exchanges was already at the origin of our partnership with the Goethe Institut and the dialogue initiated with European organizations in order to develop new projects. Also at the center of our activity is the support for emerging artists and the dance awareness work begun last season with the general public. The Faces of Dance series, the cultural mediation workshops, and new activities conceived for cultural workers will be additional opportunities for the general public to discover contemporary dance. Our art is accessible as long as we share the keys that allow its appreciation! In closing, I would like to thank Circuit-Est members Louise Bédard Danse, Sylvain Émard Danse, Le Carré des Lombes/Danièle Desnoyers, Fortier Danse-Création, Et Marianne et Simon, Danse Carpe Diem/Emmanuel Jouthe, maribé – sors de ce corps, and Frédérick Gravel.
